Edd is a native to Raleigh and a product of the Wake County’s public school system receiving his diploma with honors from Millbrook High School.  Edd went on to graduate cum laude from North Carolina State University with degrees in Political Science, Philosophy, and a minor in English.  Upon graduating college, Edd went to work in his family’s home construction business.  After working two and half years in construction, Edd went back to school to study law.  He earned a law degree from North Carolina Central University while he continued to work.  During his time in law school, Edd competed in trial advocacy and won a Willie Gary Award for Outstanding Trial Advocacy.  Additionally, Edd was selected to intern in the District Attorney’s Office in Wake County during his third year of law school, which allowed him to gain valuable trial and practical experience before taking and passing the North Carolina bar exam.

His first job out of law school was with the firm of Holt York McDarris & High LLP (now part of Fox Rothschild LLP), where he practiced criminal law and business defense.  After working over a year at Holt York McDarris & High LLP, Edd left the firm to take a job as a state prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office in Wake County.  After working as a state prosecutor for approximately two and half years prosecuting hundreds of cases including DWI, theft, drugs, white collar offenses, sexual assaults and homicides, Edd left the District Attorney’s Office and started Roberts Law Office in Raleigh in 2003. While in private practice, Edd earned a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from Seton Hall University graduating summa cum laude. The LLM is in health law with a concentration on regulatory compliance and health care fraud.

When Edd is not working, he likes to hike and travel with his wife and two sons.
