Erin Jochum Roberts

North Carolina Health Care Attorney and Medical Providers Defense Lawyer

With nearly two decades of experience, I am a healthcare regulatory and transactional attorney focused on guiding providers, health systems, and healthcare businesses through complex legal and operational challenges. My practice sits at the intersection of regulatory compliance, enforcement risk, and strategic transactions, helping clients navigate an increasingly scrutinized and rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

I advise on a broad range of federal and state healthcare laws, including fraud and abuse (Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute), HIPAA and privacy, reimbursement structures, and corporate practice of medicine considerations. I regularly support clients in structuring and negotiating sophisticated transactions, including physician arrangements, management services agreements, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, I represent healthcare professionals in matters before key North Carolina licensing and regulatory bodies, including the North Carolina Medical Board, North Carolina Board of Nursing, and North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners. My experience includes responding to complaints, navigating investigations, negotiating consent orders, and advocating for clients in disciplinary proceedings. I work proactively with clients to mitigate enforcement risk and protect licensure and reputation.

My approach is practical and business-oriented—translating regulatory requirements into actionable solutions that align with clients’ operational and financial goals. I work closely with in-house counsel, executives, and clinical leadership to proactively identify risk, streamline compliance, and facilitate growth.
